Participants will travel to the Mancos Creative District, where we’ll explore the local arts scene and connect with community leaders and artists shaping the region’s creative landscape. The experience will include an interactive printmaking activity led by Jody Chapel of Mancos Common Press (aprons provided, though you may wish to wear clothing you don't mind getting ink on), lunch, a guided mural walk led by Boettcher Fellow Chelsea Lunders, and optional time to visit local galleries. We will also be joined by several Boettcher Trustees who are attending events in the Durango area.

  • Late April in Hesperus, Colorado can bring widely varying weather conditions, from mild spring temperatures to snowstorms. We recommend packing layers, including warm outerwear, and casual attire for indoor sessions. Some of the lodging is located in separate cabins and casitas across the property, so we also recommend bringing comfortable walking shoes and rain or snow gear. Please check the local weather forecast before your trip to ensure you are prepared for any conditions.

If you plan to participate in the optional Mancos excursion, we also recommend wearing clothing you wouldn’t mind getting a bit of ink on as we will engage in an interactive printmaking activity (aprons will be provided).

If you plan to join the optional Alumni dinner on April 30, please pack a business casual outfit for this event.
